Downtown Whitby and older homes
Downtown Whitby has nineteenth-century buildings and older brick homes with steep roofs and chimneys. Masonry repairs need compatible mortar, and some buildings may have heritage considerations.
Older commercial buildings may have low-slope rear roofs and parapets needing careful flashing and coping repairs.
Port Whitby and lakeside exposure
Port Whitby near the harbour has a mix of older homes and newer townhouses. Lake wind and moisture can stress roof edges and brick on the exposed side.
Townhouse roofs often share edges with neighbours, so we clarify ownership and condominium rules before work.
Established suburbs: Williamsburg, Rolling Acres and Pringle Creek
Neighbourhoods built from the 1970s to 2000s feature two-storey homes with valleys, dormers and attached garages. Many original roofs are being replaced. We check underlayment, flashing and ventilation as part of a re-roof.
Eavestroughs here may be undersized or poorly pitched; we assess drainage to keep water away from foundations.
Brooklin: old village and new growth
Brooklin's original village has older brick and frame homes, while surrounding farmland has become new subdivisions. Newer homes may have settling grades around foundations; older homes may need masonry and chimney work.
Open land around Brooklin means more wind exposure, so ridge caps and roof edges deserve attention.
Arranging work in Whitby
We travel from Toronto and do not have a Whitby office. Each project starts with an inspection, followed by a free estimate as a written quote and a written contract setting out materials, areas, exclusions and access. The Town of Whitby may require a building permit; we'll confirm what's needed.
Statley is WSIB covered. Call 1-888-457-7076 to discuss your home.
