1. Who is responsible
This policy explains how Statley Roofing & Masonry handles personal information collected through this website and enquiries about our roofing, masonry and exterior services in Ontario. It is guided by Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and applicable privacy law.
For privacy questions, access requests or complaints, email info@statleyroofingandmasonry.com with “Privacy enquiry” in the subject line, or call 1-888-457-7076. Please do not send identity documents unless we explain why they are needed and how to provide them safely.
2. What we collect
- Enquiry details: your name, Canadian phone number, email address, postal code, selected services and approximate budget. You may also provide your preferred timeline and a project description.
- Photos: up to five optional images, together with their stored file references. Images may contain people, addresses or embedded location information. Please share only what is needed to assess your project and remove unnecessary personal details before uploading.
- Enquiry context: the page from which you submit the form and any selected service context.
- Marketing consent: your optional choice, the consent wording, a timestamp and the submission page.
- Technical information: your IP address is processed to create a one-way hash for spam prevention and submission limits. Website hosting may also involve connection and security logs. Your consent preferences are saved in your browser's local storage.
- Further correspondence: information you choose to provide by phone, email or WhatsApp, and project or contact details needed if your enquiry progresses to work.
3. Why we collect it
We use relevant information to respond to enquiries, discuss the property's condition, arrange inspections, prepare written estimates and contracts, coordinate agreed work, handle follow-up questions and maintain records required by law. Technical information helps protect the website against spam and misuse. We do not need payment-card details, government identification or sensitive health information in the enquiry form.
Submitting photos for an estimate does not give us permission to publish them as project photographs. Any proposed publicity use requires separate permission.
4. Consent and withdrawal
Sending an enquiry authorizes us to use the details you provide to respond and discuss the requested work. The marketing checkbox is separate, optional and unticked by default. You do not have to agree to marketing to request an estimate.
If we send marketing emails or texts, we will do so in line with Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL), including sender identification, required contact information and a working unsubscribe method. You can withdraw marketing consent through that method or by contacting us. Unsubscribe requests must be actioned within 10 business days. Withdrawing marketing consent does not stop necessary communications about an enquiry or agreed work.
You may also ask to withdraw consent for other uses, subject to legal or contractual restrictions and reasonable notice. We will explain any effect on our ability to respond or provide services.
5. Sharing and service providers
Website hosting and enquiry and photo storage involve service providers processing information on our behalf. Other providers may be involved when needed to communicate with you or administer agreed work. Information should be shared only for the relevant purpose and subject to appropriate privacy safeguards.
We do not sell enquiry information. Disclosure may also be required by law, a court order or a lawful request, or be necessary to address fraud or protect legal rights. Where a proposed use is outside the purposes described here, we will seek consent when required.
6. International processing
Service providers may store or process information outside Canada. Information processed abroad may be subject to that country's laws and lawful access by its authorities. Contact us if you would like information about the providers and processing arrangements relevant to your enquiry.
7. Retention and deletion
Information should be retained only for as long as needed for the identified purposes or applicable legal obligations. Relevant considerations include whether an enquiry remains active, whether it led to a contract, record-keeping obligations and the need to resolve a dispute. This website does not automatically delete enquiries or photos after a fixed period.
You may request deletion of an enquiry or its photos by contacting us. We will assess the request and explain any records that must be retained. Marketing-consent and withdrawal records may need to be kept to demonstrate compliance and prevent further unwanted messages. Information no longer required should be securely deleted or anonymized.
8. Safeguards
The enquiry system checks submitted fields, restricts uploaded file types and sizes, and uses spam-prevention measures and submission limits. Enquiry records and uploaded photos are not made available for public browsing through this website. Access controls are used to restrict access.
No online transmission or storage system is completely risk-free. Please avoid submitting unnecessary sensitive information. If a privacy breach occurs, we will take the reporting, notification and record-keeping steps required by applicable law, including PIPEDA's real-risk-of-significant-harm requirements where they apply.
9. Access and correction
You may ask what personal information we hold about you, how it has been used or disclosed, and request access or correction. Contact info@statleyroofingandmasonry.com. We may need to verify your identity without collecting more information than necessary.
Where PIPEDA applies, access requests are generally answered within 30 days. Permitted extensions and exceptions may apply; we will explain an extension or refusal and available complaint options as required by law.
10. Cookies, browser storage and optional content
The website saves your consent choices in local storage so it can remember them on that browser. You can reopen Cookie settings in the footer or clear browser storage to reset those choices. Essential storage may be needed for security or requested website functions.
No analytics or advertising tags are currently enabled in the site's own configuration. If introduced, non-essential tags will require your consent before loading. Your name, email, phone number, address, project description and photos will not be sent to analytics or advertising tools.
The embedded Google Map loads automatically and may set Google cookies; Google may also receive technical information under its own policies. WhatsApp links connect you to WhatsApp only when you follow them; information you send there is also handled under WhatsApp's policies. You can use our phone number or email instead.
11. Children's information
This website is intended for people enquiring about property services, not for children. Please do not submit children's personal information or photographs. Contact us if you believe such information has been provided in error.
12. Questions and complaints
Please contact us so we can review your concern. You may also contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada about rights and complaints under PIPEDA.
13. Changes to this policy
The date above identifies the latest revision. Material changes to how information is used will be explained, and fresh consent obtained where required. See also our Terms and Conditions.
