The Kingsway and Tudor-style roofs

The Kingsway and Humber Valley Village feature 1920s–1940s homes with steep gables, clipped roof ends, decorative brick and stone, and tall chimneys. Some have slate or cedar roofs, or were re-roofed with asphalt over time. Steep slopes and detailing require careful planning for safety and appearance.

Chimneys on these homes are often large and decorative, with many joints exposed to weather. Repointing and crown repair need compatible mortar and craftsmanship to preserve the look.

Mimico, New Toronto and Long Branch

South Etobicoke near the lake has a mix of early twentieth-century homes, former cottages and newer infill. Lake wind and moisture increase wear on roof edges, flashing and masonry on the exposed side.

Small lots and narrow side yards affect access and debris removal. We plan staging and neighbour protection before work starts.

Islington, Markland Wood and postwar bungalows

Central and west Etobicoke includes many postwar bungalows and split-levels in areas like Islington-City Centre West and Markland Wood. Many have had insulation upgrades and repeated re-roofs. We check decking, ventilation and flashing when replacing roofs.

Carports and low-slope sections are common; if shingled at too low a pitch, a membrane may be the better long-term choice.

Rexdale and north Etobicoke

North Etobicoke includes 1960s–1970s homes, townhouse complexes and low-rise commercial buildings. Flat roofs on plazas and townhouses need attention to drains, seams and parapet flashing.

Concrete steps, retaining walls and walkways here often show freeze-thaw and salt damage. We assess and recommend repair or rebuild as appropriate.
